A clown-like man tiptoes out of the enemy camp, carrying five swords in his arms; now only two remain, stuck in the ground. The sky on the map is gray, twilight. The man looks around — is he being chased? (On the corresponding card of the «Tarot of Aquarius» he has already returned to his camp and is resting, wondering: did he do everything right?)

This is a man who habitually tries to find a way out of a difficult situation by cunning, to avoid a conflict. But now, alas, the tried and tested method does not help him much: the «enemies» still have two swords, and even those that he was able to take away cut his hands. You cannot solve new problems with old methods, this card says.

In the upright position, however, it means that such a person can still be convinced, that he is capable of abandoning old methods and mastering new ones.

In the inverted position, the chances of this, alas, are small, that is, his plan is doomed to failure.

(E. Kolesov «Azbuka Tarot»)

DESCRIPTION: A young man is carrying a bundle of swords from a military camp. This could be a joke, or he may have stolen them. Element: Air.

EXPLANATION: This card, called the Lord of Fickle Efforts, clearly warns us against hasty, deceptive or impulsive behavior. The main message of the Seven of Swords seems quite clear: do not take what does not belong to you. Your plans will not work out as you planned and will most likely fail. Your desire is to get something at the expense of others. You have betrayed the trust placed in you, done something shameful and are trying to run away. You can be called an unreliable person.

REVELATION MEANING: You give useful advice to another person. You can be trusted. What was stolen from you will be returned to you.

SELF-DEVELOPMENT LESSON: When you need to think about important things, do not allow yourself to deviate (from pressing issues). Calculate the consequences of your actions. Do not act hastily or impulsively.

Seven of Swords

The Seven of Swords shows the reverse side of the Magician, with whom it is related by the golden background of both cards. The power of knowledge, a clear, sharp mind turn here into tricks and intrigues, meanness and deception. In a milder form, this can be an evil tongue, intellectual arrogance or the position of «it's none of my business» — an unwillingness to notice certain things, a habit of dodging, evading, slacking off, etc. At the same time, it is unclear who is deceiving whom here, who we are — a swindler or a victim. But more often than not, it turns out that we are harming ourselves here.

WORK: We may be deceived, or we ourselves may be deceived; perhaps we are trying to achieve something in a dishonest, fraudulent way. Such dubious means as hypocrisy, «set-up», skipping the queue and other disreputable tricks are used. If this card falls out in response to a question about work, of course, you need to be on your guard, but the main thing is to take a closer look at how we behave ourselves, so as not to fall victim to our own intrigues. On the event-personal level, the card symbolizes a bagpiper, either evading responsibility in every possible way, or openly slacking off.

CONSCIOUSNESS: On the level of consciousness, it shows that we stubbornly do not want to admit the obvious and avoid discussions on these topics. And this is dishonest, first of all, in relation to ourselves: this way we close off the path to knowing the truth, and in especially difficult cases we devote our lives to a cause that is obviously false. Therefore, here this card should be perceived as a serious warning and advice not to elevate your views to absolutes, but to question them more often.

PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Here the spectrum of this card is very wide: from petty nastiness, such as gloating and hypocrisy, to base lies, malice, meanness and betrayal. On the other hand, it can indicate a lack of openness in relationships, when we avoid direct conversations with a partner or shirk an important decision.

Sevens in Tarot

The number «seven» is associated with the Chariot, the planet Uranus and the moon sign Cancer. Uranus is the planet of abstract thinking, theory, intellect, analysis, astrology, technological progress, independence and dispassionate search for truth. Cancer is a Water sign. It is directly connected to our feelings. The planet Neptune, patronizing Cancer, is associated with meditation and respite.

The presence of sevens in the layout speaks of an original analytical approach to the study of various issues. Any trip now will be favorable and enjoyable. Success is guaranteed by work in the field of science, technology or computer technology. You may have the opportunity to write something, conduct research or study the occult sciences. Now the main attention should be paid to independent self-knowledge and internal spiritual growth. Relationships with others and work matters recede into the background, self-knowledge comes first.

The number «seven» represents Yang energy. On the seventh day, the Lord rested, and sevens in a reading often indicate the need for rest, solitude, detachment, meditation and reflection. Otherwise, you may experience fatigue, anxiety, a sense of limitation, physical and nervous tension. Now all attention should be given to spiritual growth, and not to material desires. This is a period suitable for analysis, reflection and meditation, rather than for direct action.
