A man looks at seven cups floating in the sky, containing symbols of the seven gifts or temptations that Fate offers him to choose from: wealth, fame, sex, oblivion, inspiration, selfishness and jealousy. However, these symbols have different interpretations: they can be, for example, the seven deadly sins.

Cups symbolize the dreams and doubts of a person who is wondering what to choose. However, on in fact, this is a false choice. These gifts of Destiny are only a temptation, an illusion: whatever a person chooses from the gifts offered to him, it will not bring him happiness. This card falls out when a person thinks that he knows all the possible options, and he must just choose one of them. No: in this case, he must either find another, completely different option, or postpone the decision, because now it simply cannot be right.

Inverted means that the wrong choice, alas, has already been made, and now all that remains is to think about how to correct the mistake.

(E. Kolesov «Azbuka Tarot»)

DESCRIPTION: We see a dreaming young man — before him, as in a dream, seven cups appear. He must choose one of them. They contain: the head of a beautiful woman, a castle, a bundle of jewels, a writhing snake symbolizing jealousy, a red dragon personifying temptation and a wreath of victory. In the center of the vision is perhaps the most important cup, for it contains a figure clothed in matter. This may be the young man himself in the future — his true, but not yet recognized spiritual potential. Element: Water.

EXPLANATION: You have difficulty making a clear decision. For a moment, you are lost in a fantasy world where your attention jumps from one dream to another. Instead of taking positive action, you are distracted by your dreams. It would certainly be wise to focus on what you really want to achieve. Narrow down your options, wake up from your dreams and do what you must do. After all, you are capable of making clear choices.

REVERSED MEANING: You are now able to focus on a specific task or project. You are on the right track now. Achieve your goals.

SELF-DEVELOPMENT LESSON: We all have to make some life choices. Learn to make decisions, come down from the clouds and work hard to achieve your goals — otherwise you can get lost in a world of illusions and fantasies.

The Seven of Cups is a card of untruth, illusion, mirage, ghosts . It shows that we succumb to deceptive hopes and false ideas, that we are deceived and allow ourselves to be deceived. As a rule, it is a harbinger of sobering up, that is, disappointment, and it should be perceived as a final warning: open your eyes! Although it also has a positive aspect: if we realize our delusions, free ourselves from illusions and really want to devote ourselves to something real, it promises us help and support from those from whom we did not expect it.

WORK: In terms of work, this card shows that lately we have been building castles in the air, creating illusions for ourselves and generally stepping onto the shaky and dangerous ground of empty project-mongering and Pinocchio-like gullibility. And if we do not look at things soberly, do not moderate our claims and do not limit ourselves to what is actually feasible, a catastrophe awaits us. The card warns against fake deals, false goals, and in some cases, even participation in dirty deeds and vile intrigues. In addition, it can testify that falsifications, deception and hack work are thriving at our work, and urge us to remain sober and clean-handed.

CONSCIOUSNESS: Here this card personifies a period of unrealistic dreams and looking at everything through rose-colored glasses. If we understand that these are all illusions, then such euphoria can end on its own without painful consequences. If we take these dreams for reality, believe in them, then awakening can be very bitter. In its most severe version, the Seven of Cups can mean an escape from reality, a headlong leap into fantastic worlds, the destruction of familiar structures and, as a result, the construction of new, illusory structures, some irrational, but unusually sweet reality for us, which will sooner or later burst like a soap bubble.

PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: In this area, the Seven of Cups can sometimes personify the euphoria of lovers. However, it warns that awakening can be painful. The point here is not that the object of our adoration is unworthy of it, but rather that we ourselves make unreasonably high demands on it — and we ourselves will be to blame for our disappointment. She also advises not to lull your mind with sweet dreams, but to treat your partnerships with healthy skepticism.

The number «seven» is associated with the Chariot, the planet Uranus and the moon sign of Cancer. Success is guaranteed by work in the field of science, technology, or computer technology. You may have the opportunity to write, conduct research, or study the occult sciences. Now the main focus should be on independent self-knowledge and inner spiritual growth. Relationships with others and work matters recede into the background, self-knowledge comes first.

The number «seven» represents Yang energy. On the seventh day, the Lord rested, and sevens in the layout often indicate the need for rest, solitude, detachment, meditation, and reflection. This is a period suitable for analysis, reflection, and meditation, rather than for direct action.

    • Timal says:
